This year's Junior Play was The Witches written by Roald Dahl and
adapted for the theatre by David Wood. Twenty-six actresses in Grades 7
and 8 brought the characters to life on Thursday, December 11. A
"behind the scenes crew" of nineteen senior students supported them.
Students attended the matinee performance and family and friends filled
the gym for the evening production. Drama teacher Maria Violini did an
outstanding job as director. Special thanks to Christian Martin and
Tobias Benitez for their work on the fabulous sets and to Sherryn Brown
for her help in securing the props for the kitchen and banquet scenes.
Many of the costumes were sewn by Traf student Julia Fraquelli whose
creations could be seen on the mice, the frog and the high witch. Sound
and lighting were pivotal to the transformation scenes. By all
accounts, the younger children in the audience may never think of
