Earth Club

Led by Mme Fanzone, the Earth Club meets once a week at lunch and is open to all girls in the school. The objectives of the club are to raise awareness of environmental issues and promote earth friendly initiatives within the school community. The club has made a presentation to the student body and maintains a bulletin board with up to date “green news”.

Earth Day 2009, students and staff all participated in "Tree Dress Day" and came attired in clothing representing the colours of trees and other "Earthy" items. As part of Earth Day activities students joined together to watch the movie "The Story Of Stuff". This movie looks at how consumers are driving environmental demise.

Following the presentation in the gym, students returned to their Advisory Groups and discussed ten ways to minimize our ecological footprint. Students were encouraged to continue these discussions at home. Click here for a copy of the discussion paper.

Click here for a link to the fabulous posters that were all created in 2008 from recycled materials.
