Three questions:
1) What would you do for a billion marks?
2) What do you do with a broken heart?
3) What will you do when everyone turns on you?
Claire left her hometown of Güllen a broken down pregnant child and comes back decades later as a multi-billionnaire oil mogul.
When she left, Güllen was a cradle of culture and science. It has since become a bankrupt, moribund town.
Claire returns to her place of birth with an offer: one billion marks, half for the town, half for its citizens, in exchange for justice. She wants the life of her adolescent love, Alfred Ill, beloved citizen and next in line to become mayor.
So, what do YOU do?
For answers, you must see Trafalgar’s Senior Play, The Visit, by Swiss playwright Friedrich Dürrenmatt. |
