Jenna Omassi, Class of 2010, President of the Marianopolis Model UN Club, recently won an award for her performance at the World Model United Nations (WorldMUN) Conference held in Vancouver. Jenna was one of over 2,000 delegates in attendance at the conference. Participants act as entities from various committees and nations and debate world issues. Jenna and her partner represented the United Arab Emirates.
Jenna's work is not only hypothetical. While a student at Trafalgar, Jenna organized a collection of soccer clothing to send to Cape Town, South Africa. After graduation, the former Head Girl received the $1000 Girls for the Cure Scholarship in 2011. Jenna used these funds to establish a soccer clinic in Khayelitsha, South Africa. These clinics will ensure that children will receive training and mentorship.
Jenna graduates from Marianopolis this year and will be continuing her studies at the University of British Columbia.
