Integrated Technology 2013 - 2014

The school strives to incorporate digital technology as a useful, everyday tool for learning, research, and presentations in all programme areas. Trafalgar offers its students a secure wireless network, as well as the use of high-end Macintosh computers and iPads loaded with a variety of software applications used for curricular and independent projects.

Information is exchanged between teachers, students, and parents via the school's web portal: teachers populate their course sites with links, downloads, drop boxes, and relevant course information. Students have remote access to their personal files and user accounts via the school’s server.

All students take a multimedia course in Sec. I and receive curricular instruction in Secondary I-II to ensure a solid baseline competence in relevant software use and digital research. Computer Science (programming) is offered as an academic option course in Secondary III-V. Digital cameras, camcorders, LCD projectors, Smartboards, and editing software allow students to incorporate digital technology in school presentations. Throughout the curriculum netiquette and digital citizenship are taught and actively promoted. All students are required to abide by our social media policy.

Since 2012 the school has been gradually implementing a 1:1 iPad program. Accordingly, we require each Grade 7 student to purchase her own iPad before beginning school in the fall.
