Trafalgar School for Girls is pleased to announce that over $40,000 was raised at its inaugural golf tournament, The Trafalgar Open, held on June 10. The proceeds were directed to Trafalgar’s Bursary Fund, Traf’s First Aid Fund for the purchase of a school defibrillator, and to Generations Foundation, a local charity,
The success of The Trafalgar Open is due to the generous sponsors, donors, and dedicated volunteers who helped to make this evening special. Our 79 golfers braved wet weather but had a great day nonetheless at the Club de Golf Métropolitain Anjou, hosted by Traf parents Mario and Stella DiLillo. After the round, over 50 additional guests joined us for a delicious cocktail, dinner and some active auction bidding! The dynamic auctioneer duo of past parent Andrew Carter, CJAD 800’s morning man, and Geoff Dowd, Traf principal, gave the crowd more than enough laughs, and lead a successful live auction!
Foursome Winners of the Day Parent Helene Miller Mandelcorn, brother Lennie Miller, and friends Isaac Schuster and Donna Cohen finished in first place with a team score of 63. The second place team of past parent Alex Zammit and friends Ken Verdoni, Peter Govan and Steve Colwell shot a 65. Brothers Christopher and Robin Amos (sons of Sandy Keymer-Temple ’56) received an Honourable Mention. The twosome shot 62 playing each hole twice.
