Trafalgar’s SumHER in the City maker camp will introduce girls to the STEM fields through critical making and playful learning.

Participants will engage in design challenges, as they explore using a variety of materials and manipulation techniques.

The program is scaffolded in a way that allows for students to successfully complete more challenging designs as the week progresses, as they build their skill sets and problem-solving abilities.

NB: in light of physical distancing guidelines, Trafalgar had decided to move the camp to a virtual platform this year. The weeklong virtual program will increase confidence and skills with daily design projects.
About the Director: Head of Trafalgar's Science Department and STEAM Program, Christianne Loupelle is the winner of a National Coalition of Girls’ Schools teaching award as well as a Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence in STEM.
