MORE LESSONS IN CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

On September 30th,  Sec. V students in Ms. Allison’s and Mme Guay’s class heard from two editors from the McGill Journal of Political Studies, an academic journal with both print and digital editions, which “work together to provide premier political analysis and showcase work from the best political science students at McGill University and beyond.” As Ms. Allison tweeted after the visit, the editors’ "passion for civic engagement was infectious.”

On October 10th, students in Sec. III, IV, and V will gather for an in-house Election Roundtable, as representatives from various parties gather to share information about their platforms, and to field questions. So far, Lori Morrison (NDP candidate in the Dorval-Lachine-LaSalle riding , Payton Ashe (Green Party candidate in the Bourassa riding),  Célia Grimard (Bloc Québécois candidate in the Outremont Riding)  Michael Forian (Conservative Party candidate in the Ville-Marie-/Le-Sud-Ouest/ Île-des-Soeurs riding)  and Jean Langlais (People's Party, Ville-Marie-- Le-Sud-Ouest-- Île-des-Soeurs) have confirmed that they will take part. Ms. Fainsilber is waiting to hear from the Liberal Party about their representation.

Students will have the chance to cast their ballots in a practice vote on October 21st.
