We are excited to be welcoming girls in Grades 7 to 11 to our on-site learning environment at the corner of Simpson Street and Dr. Penfield!

Trafalgar's leadership, faculty, and staff are committed to the school’s Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles, and strongly believe that these can only be realized when everyone puts the safety and well-being of our learning community first.

Our COVID-19 Task Force makes recommendations for implementing and going above and beyond government guidelines. The resulting policies and procedures are shared with current families on the school’s Portal, and through other communications channels.

Some of the more Frequently Asked Questions appear below, for the benefit of prospective families and others. Please note that updates are likely to occur, as the COVID-19 situation unfolds.

Will Trafalgar be holding school on campus in the Fall?

Yes, we will be holding classes and other activities on site for all grades (7-11).
Will all Grades be attending school on site every day?

Yes, all grades will attend school on campus every day. (There will be no alternating days/schedules for grades or groups.)
How do you plan to observe social distancing regulations?

We are lucky to be in the position of having a very spacious, well-ventilated facility, with small classes. Grades will be on separate floors within the school, and interactions between the grades will be very limited. In situations where students from more than one grade are together, a two-meter separation will be maintained, and students and staff will wear masks.
Will students and teachers at your school be required to wear masks?
Our students, faculty, and staff will be wearing masks:
- As soon as they enter the building
- In public spaces within the school (hallways, corridors, etc.)
- when in an area with students of another grade
- We are also asking students to wear a mask while in the classroom
Will you be holding some classes and activities outdoors?

The school has a lovely and spacious outdoors green area, which is accessible directly from the cafeteria. We will be making use of it whenever possible, including during the lunch hours.
Will you be offering a lunch program this year?

No, students will be required to bring their own lunch and snacks to school.
If a student is diagnosed with the Coronavirus, will other families in the school be informed?

Yes, they will be informed, and the public health department will advise us on how to proceed.
What will happen if a student starts experiencing symptoms while at school?

The student will immediately be taken to the school's isolation room. her parents will be contacted immediately, and will be required to pick up their daughter without delay.
Do you have more detailed protocols for families?

Yes, we post this information on the password-protected Portals for current students and their families, and update it as necessary.
