Ways of Giving

There are so MANY ways to give

The Advancement Office can provide you with information about each option and its benefits, and which would best meet your needs and objectives.

Gifts to the school can be made as a one-time gift or pledged over a number of years – depending on the size of the gift and its purpose. In addition, we encourage our donors to consider instalment schedules that might allow them to make larger gifts over time. Gifts may be made monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or on a specific schedule identified by the donor.

    Call 514-937-2644 ext. 237 to donate over the phone using Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

    The School is closed during the pandemic. If you wish to speak in person to someone in the Advancement Office, please call 514-434-3985.
  • COMMEMORATIVE GIFTS

    Are you looking for a gift idea? Do you want to say thank you in a special way to a current or former teacher? If you wish to honour someone special, please consider sending a commemorative gift. We will send your honouree a card, you will receive a charitable tax receipt, and you will both have the pleasure of knowing that your gift is helping Trafalgar School and its students.
    Memorial gifts celebrate the lives of our loved ones and friends who have passed away. This is a special way to recognize a special someone's connection to Trafalgar. 

    Should you wish to donate a specific item that is on Trafalgar's "Wish List", please contact the Director of Advancement at (514) 935-2644, #237 or via email.
  • For US Residents

    We are pleased to partner with FRISBE (Friends of Independent Schools & Better Education) who will process U.S. cheques, gifts of stock and gifts in kind on Trafalgar’s behalf. Donors will receive a US tax receipt.

    If you are a U.S. resident and wish to make a donation and receive a U.S. tax receipt, please address your cheque to:

    FRISBE is a registered non-profit corporation in the USA. It will accept donations via cheque, stocks only. Cheques must be made payable to FRISBE. See the Securities tab for information to process donations of stock.
  • GIFTS OF SECURITIES

    Gifts of appreciated securities are exempt from the taxation of capital gains. Donors are not taxed on the capital gains accrued on securities such as public company shares, bonds, mutual fund units and employee stock options, when donated to a registered charity such as the Trafalgar Ross Foundation. Please contact Sharon Cozens, Director of Advancement, at (514) 935-2644, #237 for information on how to make this transaction or to further discuss how this type of donation may be beneficial to you.
  • IN PERSON

    Donations by cheque may be left with our receptionist during regular business hours. If you wish to speak to the Director of Advancement when you come by, just call ahead 514-935-2644 x 237.
  • MATCHING GIFTS

    You may work for a company or organization that matches the donations of its employees, which would allow you to double the impact of your gift. Please speak to your Human Resources Department to confirm if your company matches donations and obtain the necessary forms.
  • ONLINE

    Click here to give via Visa, MasterCard or American Express using our secure, online donation form.
  • PLANNED GIVING

    If you are considering making a gift to Trafalgar through your estate planning, or would like information on other gift vehicles (insurance policies, strip coupon bonds and gift annuities), please contact Sharon Cozens, Director of Advancement, at (514) 935-2644, #237 or via email.
    If you have provided for the school in your estate, we would greatly appreciate being informed. This knowledge gives us the opportunity to recognize your generosity today and assists the school in planning for the future.
  • TAX RECEIPTS

    Gifts received will result in the issuing of a Canadian tax receipt, except in the case of US, UK and Dutch residents who may give via FRISBE or CAF America Donor Fund (read more in the US and International Gifts section below. (LINK)
    We are happy to send a Canadian charitable tax receipt to donors residing in other countries. We are not authorized to issue international tax receipts.
  • UNITED WAY / CANADA HELPS / FACEBOOK FUNDRAISERS

    Donating via other fundraisers can benefit Trafalgar as well. Please be sure to let us know of your gift so we can recognize you appropriately. Please read the group's giving policies carefully as fees may apply that may decrease the amount of your intended gift.
