COMIC-ZINES CONVEY A SENSE OF BELONGING

Sec. II students wrapped up their cross-curricular comic-zine project with artist Laurence Dea Dionne, Ms. Litvack and Ms. Fainsilber in an online celebration this past week. T
hTanks to LEARN Quebec’s innovative “I Belong” initiative, they met with and interviewed Montreal seniors, exploring ideas around community, a sense of self, and belonging.

With Laurence’s guidance, these conversations became the inspiration for developing comic-zines.  As one of the seniors remarked during the celebration, “it was really quite fascinating to see what elements of our stories struck our interviewers as interesting, and appeared in their artwork.”

You can view the 'zines in this online gallery.
