The Juvi football team’s season ended last Tuesday when they were defeated 18-6 by LCCHS. It was an incredible game, though, very exciting as we were tied for a while! The girls worked hard, played very well, listened to Coach Sam’s advice and he was immensely proud of his team. Even the coach from our opponents was nervous and worried when he saw how well our girls were playing. All to say, Coach Sam is very pleased with his season, impressed by the team’s and individual player’s efforts. The overall improvement, energy and dedication was wonderful.

It was truly a great football season and we are looking forward to the next one!

This week, our Bantam Football team’s season came to an end after a quarter-final loss in what was their best game of the season. The amount of learning, improvement, and growth that members of the team experienced in our six-week season was astounding. To illustrate this, in our first game of the season on May 2nd, we managed to complete one pass in our win against The Study (25-0), while in our quarter final game on Tuesday, our offence marched up the field with a 12-play drive that finished with a pass in the end-zone to score.

Both Ms. Loupelle and Mr. Fuoco are extremely proud of every member of the team, most of whom had never played flag football before, and we are eager and excited to work with these athletes again next year to continue improving on the football field! Great work out there, Bantam Tigers! 

Congratulations to our tennis team for participating in the GMAA Tennis Tournament last Friday. Our team was made up of girls from Secondary 1 to 5 and were participating in a juvenile category. Although there was some tough competition, our players worked hard and Sofia placed 4th in the tournament!

We had 2 games this week! On Tuesday, we played against St-Georges and won 28-0. Coach Sam remarked that everyone contributed to the win but advised his team to be prepared to run faster against Thursday’s opponents, a very strong team. At Thursday’s game, our team did run fast, and took the lead for a while, but ended up losing 18-7 against Vincent Massey. It was a cold and rainy game but that did not stop our girls from trying their best until the last minute.

Our team won against The Study on Wednesday, 25-0. This first game of the season (and first game ever for almost the whole team) was a fantastic start to the season. We had a strong showing both offensively and defensively and we look forward to continuing to learn and improve as the season goes!

The Juvenile team had another great game Wednesday, beating The Study 47-8. Coach Sam remarked that the team was very strong in all aspects of the game: offence, defence, kick off and kick off return. Looking forward to the next two games next week!
