The 27th edition of Girls for the Cure is up and running, and will take place on October 5th.
Its purpose is to raise funds and awareness for women-related cancers. Trafalgar is already accepting donations through the online fundraising page. Students created their own online accounts this past week, and are encouraged to share their donation page website with family and friends. Donations can either be given to a specific student or directly to Traf's online page! Several prizes are in store for top fundraisers.
Trafalgar's Girls for the Cure committee headed by Activities Prefect, Veronica D, are planning some fun activities before the event, so stay tuned!
Each member of the Sec. V Art class created a mural design based on the artworks they had created over the year. At least one element from everyone's painting needed to be represented. The designs were critiqued as a class, revisions were made, and then students voted for their favourite:
Congratulations to Elle Hyszko, whose beautiful wheat-paste mural was installed in the cafeteria on the last day of classes, so that returning students and staff can enjoy it next year.
Students are invited to wear an orange shirt to recognize and raise awareness about the residential school system in Canada, join together in the spirit of reconciliation, and honour the experiences of Indigenous Peoples.
