Ms Fainsilber and Ms Litvack have embarked on a cross-curricular Project with Sec. II students in their English Language Arts and Art classes.
Thanks to an initiative with LEARN Quebec, the group in creating Comic-Zines that develop out of and are inspired by interviews with Seniors who have been involved in the English-speaking community.
The process started the week before last with a session with artist Laurence Dea Dionne, which was followed by an ELA class on interview skills. The students have begun interviewing “their” seniors, and are looking forward to another session with Laurence Dea Dionne as they continue to develop their work. The project will wrap up by showcasing and celebrating student work--stay tuned for details!
Thanks to the hard work and ingenuity of Head Girl Daniella Lang and her Committee, Traf’s annual W.O.W. initiative inspired and engaged everyone involved in it. First launched in 2002 in honour of International Women’s Day, WOW (an acronym standing for Women of the World) recognizes and celebrates "the empowerment and influence of women around the world."
Over the years, Traf students have participated in a wide variety of WOW group activities, and heard from many different speakers. This year, students and staff gathered both in the gym (in their “pods”) and online to hear from Montreal’s own Dr. Liane Feldman.
