Trafalgar School for Girls, once again, is being hailed as a leader in educational best practices. We have been named an Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE) School of Distinction. This honour follows a comprehensive, year-long application process which proved how Trafalgar acts as a leader in the unique and vital stage of middle-grade learning.

While systemic secondary structures in Quebec often overlook the need for differentiated learning during early adolescence, Trafalgar built a program tailored directly to them, with care, purpose, and intentionality.

AMLE praised Trafalgar’s middle school for its cross-subject projects, the CoLab, as well as the JAHM program, which teaches our youngest students independence by building emotional regulation and executive functioning skills.

Looking ahead, the process helped pinpoint key opportunities for continuous improvement. In the upcoming school year, our team will focus on providing more opportunities for Cycle 1 students to engage in community service projects.

Early adolescence is one of the most critical stages in human development. As a global leader in middle-grade research and advocacy, AMLE outlines eighteen foundational components of a successful middle school, and we are proud to have surpassed these expectations.
