Academic Enrichment and Support

Supporting Every Learner

Every student deserves the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. At Trafalgar, our Student Support team is here to ensure that no student navigates their journey alone. We provide personalized guidance tailored to each learner’s strengths, goals, and challenges, offering the right tools and encouragement at every stage of their education.

Our work focuses on three key areas:
  • Admissions Guidance: Helping families and students transition smoothly into our community.
  • Academic Support and Enrichment: Providing resources, tools, and strategies to help students excel.
  • Wellness through JAHM: Promoting a balanced lifestyle through physical activity, mindfulness, and mental health initiatives.
Together, these services create a strong foundation for success, both in the classroom and beyond.
Small classes. Personalized guidance. Holistic growth.

Jacqueline Angus Healthy Minds and Well-Being Programme (JAHM)

JAHM is Trafalgar’s signature well-being program designed to support the mental health, resilience, and overall development of students. It integrates academic skills with social-emotional learning, giving students practical tools for managing stress, building healthy relationships, and approaching challenges with confidence. Rooted in the school’s commitment to educating the whole student, JAHM helps ensure that well-being is at the heart of the Trafalgar experience.

Academic Enrichment and Support

Services Offered:

Our approach is grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks, which support all students, not only those with identified learning needs.

UDL ensures that teaching practices are flexible and accessible, meeting students where they’re at. RTI provides additional tiers of support when a student needs more specific instruction or intervention. Together, these approaches allow us to respond to individual differences while maintaining a strong, inclusive learning environment.

Middle School

The Middle School years are a time of growth and transition. Our program helps students build the academic foundations and personal habits that prepare them for senior school. Through JAHM Sessions, students strengthen executive functioning, organization, and study skills while also developing self-awareness and social-emotional resilience.

Senior School

In the Senior School, our focus shifts toward independence and self-advocacy. Students learn to understand themselves as learners, recognizing their strengths, challenges, and preferred strategies. Through one-on-one support, workshops, and reflective practice, they develop a personal toolbox of skills to carry with them into post-secondary education and beyond. Our goal is for each student to graduate as a confident, capable, and self-directed learner.
