Words that Resonate
One of the school’s most celebrated annual events: the Trafalgar–Ross Lecture brings together the entire student body and staff, along with many Old Girls, parents, friends of the school, and special guests.
The series was re-established in 1981 to honour the memory and intention of Trafalgar's founder, Donald Ross, “to bring before a large audience of students, Old Girls, parents, staff and friends of the school, a speaker of prominence and personal distinction, whose address will prove of lasting influence and inspiration for our students.”
Now called the Trafalgar-Ross Lecture, outstanding Canadians such as Maureen Forrester, Marc Garneau, David Suzuki and Adele Wiseman are invited each year to address the school during the month of October.

About Our Speaker
We are honoured to have Linda Genereux as this year’s esteemed Trafalgar Ross Lecturer. A Canadian-American filmmaker and advocate for justice-impacted youth and adults, Linda co-produced the short advocacy film Because I’m Sixteen with the New York Center for Juvenile Justice, which addressed the need to raise the age of criminal responsibility in New York State.With an MSc in Urban Policy and an MA in Art History, Linda has also built a distinguished career as an entrepreneur, independent art curator, art writer, and photography expert. Born in Montreal and raised in Vancouver, she brings to Trafalgar a wealth of experience, insight, and creativity.We look forward to welcoming Linda, where she will share her insight, creativity, and passion for advocacy with our community.
